GEI’s experience is extensive in dam and reservoir projects.  GEI’s capabilities include dam silting investigations, feasibility studies, geotechnical and geologic investigations, detailed embankment design, preparation of plans and specifications, and construction observation and testing.  In addition, GEI’s staff has performed static and seismic stability evaluations of existing embankment dams, provided recommendations for mitigative measures where deemed necessary, and has developed an excellent rapport with engineers and geologists at the California Department of Water Resources Division of Safety of Dams.  GEI has the capabilities to perform both static and pseudo-static stability analyses of proposed and existing embankments.  GEI can also perform seepage, slope deformation, and liquefaction analyses for both proposed as well as existing earth and rockfill dams.
